Sad news for Bimmer enthusiasts comes to us from a recent Automotive News report. As the story goes, a container ship en route from Europe to the U.S. delivering the first load of 2008 BMW M3 and 1 Series Coupes hit rough water, causing many of the 470 vehicles on board to come loose and incur damage. Reportedly, 120 vehicles were damaged beyond repair and face their demise at the scrapyard.

Gutted!

I wonder how many were repairable, and will make it into the UK market - and if they're even declared as repaired?

Shame though, I've got a moistening for the '08 M3 (like I'd be able to afford the bus fare).

Pfft. Couple of pots of T-Cut.

Surely some of them pictured can be repaired at half the cost of buying an M3 new?

Wonder how much they'd sell them for rather than scrapping...

I wonder what BMW will say/do for the customer now that theyre M3, which they have been waiting months for has been destroyed?

"lol @ u"

"I'm sorry but your car was destroyed in bad weather whilst being transported here, would you like a refund? Or we can lend you this (Insert nice bmw) to drive whilst it arrives"

BMW dont have a lot of luck with shipping there cars over!
Theres still a load of them in the middle of the channel, and not forgetting the Napoli (spl) with the motorbikes on board.
