I really don't know whether to laugh or not...

I got a phone call at work today, with a very distressed mum at the other end. She told me that she was at the vets with the cat that had just been tumble dried for about 20 minutes! :o I suppose the cat must have been napping in there or something.

Turns out that the cat is ok though, stopping at the vets overnight on a drip. I'm not quite sure how hot it would get in 20 mins though, with wet, cold clothes, I suppose it would take a while for it to reach maximum temperature? Must have been really scary for the cat, especially whilst half asleep!

It must be pretty common though, all the cats we've had over the past years have always been quite partial to the occasional cat nap in the washer / dryer?!

The cat is fine, so we may aswell laugh rather than cry, right? And before anyone says... yes, TTIUWP!

The cat's only a nipper, so at least it's got youth on its side, should be right as rain tomorrow. I wonder if her fur still fits?

what i was thinking

im guessing they have a seperate wash room with the washer in :)

Yup, we have a purpose built room at the back of the garage where the washer and stuff goes, it also has a catflap for emergencies - if the cats arn't in they can find shelter in the utility room, maybe even the tumble dryer if it's a bit nippy.

However, the cat is home today, just a little bruised and battered. It was a very lucky escape, it's probably had more of an effect on my mum than the cat, I suppose it's like accidentally tumble drying your kids.
