Thats not my point. Only that its not as simple as ill people supporting her and healthy people hating her as you seem to be suggesting or generalising.

I resent or am indifferent about a lot of things. Difference being that I don't have pretend to care for those things to make myself look good amongst other people.

I'm not sure what point you're making. I'd be first in line to point out that she's unjustly famous, but that's not being critical of her as such. I'm just not in favour of this attitude that she's somehow wrong to be making the most of her fame to secure some money for her children. What's wrong with that? I also don't see it as hypocritical for her or anyone with an illness to suddenly start campaigning for it. Until you're in that position you can't know what it's like, and I think it's quite a leap for people to complain that someone who is ill would suddenly want better treatment to exist for the disease that they're going to die of.

I don't care about how she became famous as such. I refused to pay attention to Big Brother at the time of her 'racist' remarks and ignored everyone's pointless so-called outrage. What I'm saying is that its funny how short some people's memories are; in that she has gone from one of the most ridiculed people in the country to being little Miss Saint all because of Cancer. I don't really care that she's rinsing some money for it, I'd rather just not know about it is all.

Everyone was exceptionally brutal with their comments of her at the time of the BB fiasco, yet now its public adoration for her.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think she was diagnosed with terminal cancer then.

Sarcasm aside, what do you realistically expect when a popular/unpopular figure is told they are dying? That it's going to lie low and stay quiet?

ANYONE, no matter how much of an idiot, deserves sympathy when told they have cancer and 2 months to live. Yes, it makes a good and somewhat macabre story for the papers, but that's the world of the media, and that's life. She's not a bad person, jsut an idiot, and it's the media who are exploiting her just as much as she is exploiting them. I'm really not sure what you're surprised about.

No-ones saying you have to like her, or stop 'hating' her... but surely a shred of you feels something for what she must be going through, as with any other cancer patient.

Tbh i dont really feel sorry for Jade at all..if its anyone i feel sorry for...its her 2 little kids..they are the ones i feel the most for. As for Jade i have no real sympathy for her...never liked her and never will so her wedding and death means sweet FA to me in all honesty.

This is exactly the point I don't agree with.

Loads of people are now turning round and saying how awful it is for Jade when they previously slagged her off. I don't give too hoots about her with cancer or without, and I don't see why anyone should feign sympathy. Does anyone here really care if she has cancer? No.

The argument that anyone with cancer deserves sympathy is fallacious rubbish. If Osama Bin Laden were diagnosed with terminal cancer no-one would care less.

I may well do. My grandfather has advanced cancer and my mother has been in and out of hospital with melanomas. Do I care for them? Of course. Do I care for some worthless chav chump off the television? No.

Are you her agent or something??:rolleyes: Seriously why should your average joe off the street give a flying hoot about someone who became popular due to her stupidity and ignorance...not forgetting her stint in racism as well;).

If it was someone important like a world leader etc then yes i would express my sympathy but Jade Goody??...come on behave yourself will you??...shes no one important and that fact that Gordon Brown has mentioned her just made laugh even more at how utterly stupid this whole media circus is getting.

I dont deny her that shes trying to make enough money so that her kids can have a good life...in fact im all for it but seriously some people need to get a grip...if anyone deserves sympathy its her 2 little boys.

Racism happens every day, it's just the fact it was publicised everyone suddenly cares about it.

That and the fact the person she was racist towards has actually forgiven her.

If you don't care about the person in question who has cancer, why bother commenting and going "stupid bint merrr she deserves it she's ripping our tax money off". (Not you specifically :))

I couldn't care less about her, I don't know the woman, but t sit there and just quite frankly rip her is pathetic.

If any 'world leader' got cancer, why would that be any different?

Indeed, her kids do deserve sympathy, same with any kid who has to lose their parents.

I never said I expected that it would be kept low and quiet. As soon as I heard that she had Cancer, I knew it'd be turned into a massive national story by the press.

That's obvious, anyone who saw what happened with the BB racism event would know that.
