poor raid 0 performance

Hi Guys

I have the rdx200 cf-dr and i seem to get very poor performance
from my raid 0 setup using the sb450. In HDtach i only get aroud 22mb/s burst speed and an average read of 18mb/s.

Before i set up raid i used to get 79mb burst speed and 50mb average read.

Im am using 2x Western Digital 160gb sata 1 drives using 32k stripe

Does anyone know what is wrong and how it can be fixed.

Looking at reviews of that board the RAID solution isn't the best performing out there but it certainly should be doing better than that. Have you checked the usual suspects?

• Drivers up to date
• Latest BIOS levels (main and RAID if appropriate)
• No errors in the Windows system event log
• No unknown devices in Device Manager

I assume that this is a fresh install on the array?

thanks for the help.

i downloaded the latest southbridge drivers and it now works

i get 125mb burst rate and 85 average read, it may not be the fastest but its quicker than my old setup
