Poor SSD Performance !

I have recently installed a new Crucial 64GB M225 SSD (1819 firmware) which appears to be giving pretty poor performance compared to other benchmark test results posted on this forum.

I originally installed Win7 Pro 64bit on IDE but now use AHCI having made the registry/BIOS changes. I am using the Windows 7 driver.

Can anyone please suggest what the problem could be ? I have also run benchmark tests with both ATTO and A SSD Benchmark but get similar results.

Thank You

Thanks for the post Meatloaf.

If I try reverting back to the 1571 firmware, will this erase all data on the drive ? If so, what is the best boot format utility to use with Win7 64 bit ?

I should also add that the Crucial 64GB M225 SSD is used for the Win7 os only. The Windows Page File and all data are stored on a 500GB Samsung F3 drive.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply boosfuk.

I have an Intel based system as follows :

Intel Q6600
MSI 975X motherboard with ICH7 SATA controller
4GB Ram

I know I still have a fast disk but, in some benchmarks, my drive is more than 30% down results from other Crucial 64GB SSD drives.

Thanks again.
