Hi,

I'm currently using "Mail by HTC" for my e-mail needs. It's crap as it sets the phone / e-mail with IMAP.

Is there a service like the Blackberry where if you recieve an e-mail, you recieve it straight away and it duplicates in your e-mail account inbox. Likewise, if I send an e-mail I need it to duplicate in my sent messages of my e-mail account.

At the moment I need to refresh the IMAP phone server every hour to recieve e-mails.

Thanks!

Are you sure you're not getting POP3/IMAP mixed up, POP3 downloads the email off the server to the phone so it's no longer on the server, IMAP on the other hand leaves everything on the server, essentially just gives you a mirrored copy of the 'folders'.

Now, from what you're saying I think you want IMAP with Push Email (push being the bit that gets it instantly), which I don't think is possible as I don't think it's something IMAP supports (I could be wrong though).

But it should be possible (no experience of using the htc app, nor even using imap on android just that I know it supports it) to setup an IMAP account (assuming your mail server allows that) and get it to sync every 5/10/15 minutes which is about the best you can do...

Conversely it seems your current setup is POP3 (assuming it's taking the emails off the server) and with a slow sync, both of these should be options in the app but not sure.

the gmail app is very good and is what i use. I have my hotmail also all connected to my gmail app so i get my mail from there also.
