Hello
Just to give you some background, I'm currently in the middle of writing an email to someone about the lack of personalised and easily accessible information for a certain field of engineering.
To illustrate one of my points, I wanted some examples of popular forums on the web, ideally educational and definitely SFW. Also possibly not too geeky just so that the person on the other end of the email has something to relate to e.g. I can't use OcUK (although I'd love to of course
) because it immediately raises the confusion of "overclocking", which this person might not know about etc.
The first one that springs to mind is:
http://www.physicsforums.com/ (the more academic the better)
Also something like http://www.avforums.com/forums/ would probably be acceptable because it's immediately clear what they are about.
So, anyone got any good examples?
Cheers.
PS When I searched for popular forums, a lot of examples were stuff like "4chan" and "somethingawful" which I can't use to reinforce my argument
