Populous The Beginning - Game Save

I know that this is a very old game, so many people might not have even heard of this, but I have dusted it off and decided to play it through again, but this time I have got stuck on level 15 again, so wondering if anyone has or knows of a Game Save for this game to get me to at least 16, or maybe even the completed game, so that I can play them all at my leisure.
 
If I remember correctly, the trick is to take out the guard towers before you try and free the shaman. Normally, my attack force contains: 4 Spies, 5 preachers, 5 Fire warriors and use a load of warriors.

I think I just used 10 warriors, 10 fire and 10 preach if I recall, if that's too many then I just trained all of my braves evenly and attacked at around the 5minute mark.
 
Tried finding a copy of this again a few months back, had no luck unless I wanted to spend over £10 on it:(
 
I remember having the demo for this, and i used to play it to death thoes 3 levels you got. Seriously i used to spend 100s of hours, i think i could have completed final fantasy 7 a couple of times.
Then i got the full game after playing the demo for a year, and loved the rest of the game:)
 
fantastic game: I loved training up my shammy, popping her in a balloon and then maintaining a ring of 'swamps' around my base as I built my ridiculously large army of warriors ! :D
 
This really is the perfect game for me, as it has everything in it than I could really want, even the graphics arent half bad, even 10 years on!

That level 15 is the only thing that spoils it, because I always enjoy building everything up and then attacking everyone, especially when you put your shaman in a hot air balloon, that is the best thing about that game really.

Even though I didnt have the game saves, I managed to basically bypass level 15 completly by surprise, but can only be done after you type the cheat in.

Im happy tho, I am now past my sticking point of the 15th level :D
 
I still have the CD's for populous and the expansion somewhere, it was a great game and even today there hasn't been anything close to it. Dungeon Keeper was also a unique game that I spent many hours playing, both were creations of Peter Molyneux.
 
I know this is a long shot but do you think Populous The Beginning would run under Vista x64? I never got it working on XP so I'm not expecting much.

If you have a psp you can get it from the playstation store for around £3. It also appears you would be able to play it on the ps3 with the same file, didnt know that. So if you have either of the current generation sony consoles you're in luck

I also used to love this game, still have it on the original playstation

Hello RobH, Populous: The Beginning does indeed work under Windows Vista 64-bit, I'm playing it right now actually. Fantastic game. :D:D

Hi RobH, nope, or I certainly didn't have to anyway. Just insert the disc and follow the on screen instructions. If you do experience any problems, explore the Populous: The Beginning installation disc, find the "Setup.exe" icon and then right click and click the "Run as administrator" option. :)
 
I was having problems with Populous The Beginning with XP & also Vista x64 (which I am using now)

The problem with both of these Windows OS is that Populous requires the v1.3 Patch, because after you have done that the game will work with all of the OS, whether you have XP or Vista, I can vouch for this as I have a desktop with XP, the only problem I had was finding this 1.3 patch, as most places that used to host this now simply do not work, and I really cant remember where I found this patch from in the end as it took me hours!

If enough people want this patch, I will consider hosting it up on here.

I still need that Game Save, because where I thought I got past level 15, I havnt done, as I got by using a website that said level 15 had a glitch, but now it has corrupted my game saves, so I need a proper completed game, or at least level 16 or better, but nobody seems to have it!
 
I've just been looking through my saved games folder, I believe I do. Give me a second and I'll sort it out for you.

It should be the save in the solar system somewhere after level 15. If it it's not, or it does not work let me know I'll figure out what it needs since I got my populous saves mixed up with some other game's saves.
