Tesco had some nice looking pork steaks on offer so I decided to grab a couple with the intention of popping them in the slow cooker for tomorrow night's tea but I was wondering if there were any easy tips to make it a bit more "special"?

I was just planning on bunging them in whole along with a couple of sliced peppers, an onion, some carrots and just a generic pork casserole packet mix!

I'm not what you would call good at cooking so any suggestions would need to be simple!! :D

Thanks for any suggestions guys.....

As there's not a great deal of mass to them i.e. not a joint then make sure they are covered in liquid otherwise they will dry out.

Try a tomato and mushroom sauce maybe with garlic and onions.

Soften some onions add crushed garlic don't let brown, add to slow cooker, brown off steaks in the left over oil and juices and add to the cooker, then fry off mushrooms in all the juice then left to mop up all the flavour again add to cooker, couple of tins of chopped toms, salt pepper and some mixed herbs, maybe a beef Oxo cube.

Are they pork shoulder steaks, loin steaks or some other kind? Knowing the cut of meat will help us suggest appropriate things to do with them :)

1 Onion, 1 leek, enough dry cider to cover, 2 tsp wholegrain mustard, little salt, lots of black pepper and some sage if you have it. Cook til the pork is tender then add 2 sliced apples (cored) and half a tub of crème fraiche. Cook further until apples have softened but not disintegrated.
