Hi, was bored, thought i'd search a bit of porn, went for something a bit different lets say and the result was a virus or trojan or whatever.

Basically I restarted my computer and signed in. Said something like my profile doesnt work or something and now my backgrround is Blue with a signle yellow and blue in the back saying

"Warning!
Spyware detected on your computer!
Install a Antivirus or Spyware removed to clean your computer."

And it then proceeded to install all the programs on my pc again.

Ow yeah, it didn't log me into my account, just a random one with nothing on the desktop.

tried booting into safe mode?

ive discovered a handy program called combo fix, seems pretty good with spyware etc. Try running that.

Do you have any kind of anti virus? if not id get one even if its only a free one.

Sounds like one i removed from a client’s pc last week

It sounds like its Antivirus 2008 or some sort of rogue security app that has installed

Super Antispyware pro trial version removed the last strain of this from the client pc

But any decent virus app Kaspersky ,Nod32 or Antispyware app should be able to remove this

Thanks guys will try all of these, keep them coming if any more suggestions dont know if they will work yet but im trying them.

we've been using Super AD blocker on customers PCs at work

http://www.superadblocker.com/

Its only a 15 day trial, but during that time its fully functional. So install, remove malware, uninstall.

Its zapped every piece of malware our customers have thrown at it so far !

XP antivirus 2008 is becomming the scourge of our outstanding faults list. Ive removed about 3 or 4 installs of this piece of software alone this month.

That's why i love Vista..you would have been warned that it was it trying to install.

Well, unless you're l33t and cool and turn all the protections off cos you don't need them because you're alpha, that is. Sadly far too many people seem to recommend this approach...

Well the OP did not say what Os he was using so i assumed XP.

I also found some more setting in vista defender that will tell you of any registry changes which is cool.
