The earliest I can get a new 911 Turbo is next September, but get this. I have to pay a £10K deposit and the dealer gets the interest (about £450).

Every new car I've ever bought has been supplied with "free" floormats, including a Carerra 4, but not this one - £112 please.

£107K including options, £10K deposit for a year, not a penny discount and £112 for floor mats. It seems the more you spend the less they have to try. Right now I'm in two minds whether to buy an imported UK-spec car.

Try a different dealers, Lancasters in Colchester would give you a better deal if you went to them with that.

Sounds a little off that Mark, which dealership are you at there? How about trying further afield to another retailer?

(Stratstone Wilmslow springs to mind).

Wouldn't that have an effect on residual value though?

I can see why you're annoyed especially following previous experiences, but if the above is true, then it would be cutting off your nose to spite your face, and all to save less than £600...

What boxes have you ticked? Can you find a nearly new example that's close enough to what you want?

Or, on the flip side, do you did last time, tell the krauts to stuff it and get something with Scudiera Shields. V8 for the win this time though!

How does the "Well, Porsche dealer xxx down the road said they'd do yyy for free, but I'd rather come here instead for reason zzz" work in car dealerships?

What did I say..? :p

The 10k deposit is to dissuade speculators.

There are plenty of official UK cars available NOW at a slight premium. Check the usual suspects.

I didnt realise the waiting list was that long, is it the same everywhere?

Im sorry, but floor mats being sold as an option extra for £112? Thats a joke.

I've got some off cuts of carpet upstairs, ill write porsche on it and send it your way, no one will ever know! ;)

Who are the usual suspects?

Sunday Times classifieds, Tom Hartley (although allegedly he's a pain to deal with), Saffron. To name three.

edit: Also speak to Dion at the Elms Collection, he's got a great reputation for finding cars.

the chapelgate dealer in bournemouth were quite good to us when we bought our porsche a few years ago. Picked us up from the train station, didnt throw anything free in though :(

It sounds like the dealers think they are doing you a favour by selling you one of their cars. I would never buy from dealers like that. Take Noz's advice. :)

Imagine what they will be like if something does go wrong?

I would tell them where to go! Not al dealerships are that hard on customers surely!

Good luck on the hunt, i have read so much about this car and it truely is awesome. Don;t be put off by a stiff nosed rentboy in a suite.

no offence Mark but if you arent prepared to pay it there are plenty that will, AFN just offered a similar deal to my primary engineer, seems that people are happy to pay way over the odds in terms of deposit and sparseness to secure what is easily one of the greatest cars on the road today.

430 sales have taken a huge hit off the back of the new turbo, my boss got his 3 months before his due date off the back of cancelled orders due to the new turbo.

Dont get me wrong I hear your point but I know that in the upper eschilon of the car buying world its dog eat dog to get that ellusive spot in the queue.
