Port 80 redirect for own domain - which service?

New tube needed, which shop?

Your original question is about as vague as that. Now are you needing to send web traffic to a server on your home network but want it to be done by domain name using a dynamic IP re-director?

What are you actually asking as the guesswork in the question above is immense (but I'm probably not far off). We don't have telepathy or crystal balls though so a BIT more info and actually wording a proper question would probably be a better start.

Hi Guys.

Sorry for the vague question, I was not sure how to word what I needed.

The pages below best advise what is needed:

http://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/my-isp-blocks-port-80-what-can-i-do/

http://dyn.com/support/webhops-and-redirections/#ports

We have different games servers and services hosted externally and I want to remove the port from the IP address and simplify it, so:

game.myserver.com redirects to 81.456.563.56:8565, if that makes sense?

Obviously, I cannot host them all on port 80.

I can then create a subdomain for each service keeping it tidy.

Take L4D2, for example.

It will resolve game.myserver.com and connect to 27015 by default.

You're probably not going to benefit from port redirection unless you use it for real web traffic.

It will, but is that the default server port for the game anyway? As in, the client will look on that port if one is not specified?

We are with a GSP at this moment so are not able to change ports to defaults.
