Port scanners

I have a friend asking me for help. Basically something is blocking her pc from accessing a game.

I've downloaded the same file she has, i can connect but hers is blocked. Ive took off all the firewalls, the only thing left is port forward.

I'm remote accessing her pc, is there a good program i can run that will tell me what port the game is trying to access? So i can then go and open it in her router settings.

Ive opend the ports but it just dont connect

I typed what u said and i got

"The requested operation requires elevation"

Shes on vista btw and i havent used vista before.

You need to run the command prompt as an Admin it seems. Go via the start menu shortcut and do run as.

lol cant even see run in the start menu

edit found it in accessories, i type cmd or?

Vista confuses me

Well i took out the router, and its still blocked.

Any idears, ive turned off vista's inbuilt firewall, theres no other virus/firewall programs installed.

If the game icon is on the desktop right click and Run as admin (or something like that, been a while since I touched Vista!)

Otherwise use file manager to find the game executable and do the above.

The problem was the game wouldn't connect to the auto patcher, so wasnt updating, rendering it unplayable.

Seems to be fixed now tho
