Portable AC units?

I'm not staying in this house long-term and with it being a housing association property I doubt I'd be allowed to install proper air con, so I'm looking at portable units. Before the inevitable heatwaves really kick in. This house gets incredibly hot during summer.

It's only a small house, so I'm hoping I can get away with two units with internal doors being open. I just don't know what a good unit is and am looking for advice on what to buy.

I also know I need to seal the window I'm venting through but with only small top outward opening windows I'm not sure what kit I'd need.

Can anyone help?

its important to get the right btu for the room size 10,000 or higher is best avg 30p per kWh now :(

Is there anything in particular that causes the house to get hot? E.g. big glass area.

As well as this thread, I would also do some searches on the forum, as I do know that this has been discussed at length previously. E.g.

Also:

Should have bought one in Feb - double the price at this time of year lol!

Not being helpful I know sorry - as others have said - make sure the BTU is ok and make sure you can vent it properly

Our portable aircon was only a cheap one from Lidl several years ago and think it's only like 7 or 8000 btu but i was surprised how little electric it uses, like 800 watts with the compressor running and down to 200ish when just the fan is going. Luckily i have solar panels which makes using aircon pretty much free as you tend to only want to use it when it's sunny!
