Hi all,
I've a Maxtor portable harddrive (PHDD) that I use for my work. Mainly because the IT dept (one lad with no clue) is completely inept and constantly keeps messing up our roaming profiles and permissions.
Despite being a senior here I've only got admin access to one PC on the whole site. When I use my harddrive on there it isn't an issue. However I am currently in the process of updating our depts intranet site and all that is stored on my PHDD.
I can access my PHDD however windows seems to be putting the local permission settings onto the portable drive which means I can't save over anything that is already on the drive.
Is there anyway I can set it up that Windows doesn't see it as a perm harddrive and add local permissions to it??
Only way I can get around it at the moment is to make copies of the folders/files I need and work on them that way which is a PITA!
