Hi

I travel with work a lot and would like to buy a portable external HD so I can watch episodes of stuff/ listen to all my music when I am stuck in a hotel room.

What are the durability of these external drives like? Will they take to being carried around/ stuffed into a bag every other day etc without data corruption?

Thanks

I've had a WD for a year or so.. Gets chucked around all over the place and no problems. That said, if you are keeping volitile data on it, it's still best to back up elsewhere. Just in case. :)

I've got a 2.5" 60Gig drive in a simple enclosure and its been battered all to hell and back.. I've even had to replace the case due to dropping it and breaking the USB interface but the drive is fine... Its a Fujitsu drive and its holding up really well, I always back up my important data tho, its about time for a new RAID server in the next few months methinks =]
