Portal Revolution

Somewhere around the end of chapter 4 now, have had to look at a guide a few times to make progress as I'm evidently a bit simple :) still enjoying it
 
Downloading it now, I thought I started it yesterday and didn't really get what people was saying with only having the blue portal, just figured out this morning that I was playing reloaded and not revolution.
 
annddd.. finished :) very good! the hardest puzzles are in chapter 4 i think, the difficulty winds down a bit from there in my opinion. Either that or i just got better at them. took me 9 hours total according to steam but then I was alt-tabbing at work, probably did it in closer to 6/7. hopefully they put a sequel out soon.

Tried Portal Reloaded and cannot get into it, I don't like the " Time Travel Portals " at all.
Revolutions was brilliant however

I think that's the beauty, the first time you solve a puzzle you're not always sure if it was the intended solution or some sort of innovative unique solution :rolleyes: you've just invented.

I remember the original portal, the sections with gun turrets I started making them to fall through particular places such that they would knock over other turrets and feeling like Isaac Newton, solving the problem of getting rid of turrets but using what I thought would be the 'wrong' way of getting rid of them rather than avoiding them, knocking them down with a cube or using portals to move them. In reality, thousands probably did the same.

Im only on chapter 3, but im enjoying what ive played so far, not sure what it is but I always feel like a genius completing a level, until i get stuck and feel like a dumbass
 
This is really enjoyable but...

I died during the countdown sequence where I managed to press the second red button (where there are three turrets to dodge and you have to portal fall/jump to the platform to get to the button).

I died because I ran out of time. However the game keeps respawning me into the 5 seconds before the whole facility blows up and the only other save is only about 30 seconds left. I have no other auto saves and my only manual save is chapters ago. There needs to be a hard save at the 5 mins start time or they need to add time on as the buttons are pressed to give you a chance.

I'm reasonably portal confident in puzzle solving but the lack of time reset is frustrating and I still have to solve another puzzle and press a button
 
Im trying portal mel atm, its good but im finding it hard to get through stuff compared to proper portal level design, too much stuff in the environments to find where to fire the gun at lol.

Is this new mod more akin to official level design or more like mel?
