Because it depends which corner of which track and sometimes changes during the weekend.
Its one of those things that should be a lot simpler than it is. I guess no one wants to pay for the track changes (kerbs/grass/gravel etc) to force drivers not to take the risk for faster times.
It could and should be pretty much the simplest rule to manage over a weekend
Remember these tracks aren't just for F1.

Russell - Very tough race guys. That was a race for survival in the early laps. Just to keep the car on the track. Reminiscent of 2019. Really difficult. It's a shame but yeah, positives to take away from the weekend but still, plenty of work to do. Just keep pushing.
No more champagne, just Ferrari sparkling wine on the podium now.
I suppose it is the most reliable way Ferrari will on the podium this year I suspect.

Not really sure that's relevant to the OP to be honest.
For the most part, gone are the days of company loyalty. They don't care. They literally just want the job done and get away with what they can pay you. Half the time it's not that they're trying to pay you less, they just have no idea what market rates are for the most part.

Today just goes to reinforce that, with all things being standard, Lewis and Max are miles ahead of anyone else.
In fairness to Bottas, until a sensor gimped a couple of his laps, he was slowly creeping towards catching the DRS window of Max - that could have played out very differently as the Merc would have mauled the Red Bull down the straight
Oh dear... what a pity.

It’s hard to imagine anyone else getting 1st or 2nd this year barring an unusual error or reliability. It’s going to be tight.
That merc engine seems to have some serious power when they need it down the straight. Is that what toto was talking about in the pre-season.

Mercedes have either done a lot of catching up, or some circuits favour one team over the other. I'm hoping for the latter, tbh.
That said, it wasn't a clear cut thing here, Max and Lewis were trading back and forth across the race; and Pérez would have been close to Bottas if Red Bull hadn't gimped his strategy.
I’m not sure it’s a lie as they’ve obviously done incredible work with their aero in recent years to keep close to the Mercedes. I also think Mercedes have always been in the sensible/cautious camp with regards to how much they crank their engine up. Maybe now they are being pushed they are having to up this? Plus for all we know the RB guys could also be pushing it engine wise to try and close the gap further.
I think it’ll be interesting as the season goes on as there will definitely be tracks that favour each team more than the other. I just wish all the other teams weren’t so far away.
