Hi all, Don't know if anyone is into golf here but wondered if you knew how to tell dodgy online company's. I've ordered a skycaddie sg5 from tomorrowsgolfer.co.uk last friday on the promise it was in stock and would be dispatched on mon on nxt day delivery. No gps unit arrived so rang up, a woman called Emma Sage answered, appologised and said they had a big demand for them and they were getting more on wed so I would get it thurs. Even tho I ordered fri morning at 7AM and she replied to an email sent thurs at 10AM fri saying they were in stock.

Anyway how can you tell were a website is based?, as It doesn't actually say an address on the site which i've just noticed(silly me) but my main concern now is that the site is blogged everywhere and has over 805,000 searches via google but when you search the net there's only 1 customers with a review which is don't buy from them on McAfee siteadvisor LOL.

Seem's to me it's a very cleverly set up site and seem's so legit I think it may just be a very poorly run company.

Can anyone trace websites or have good knowledge on linking up IP addresses to see if its a scam?

Any help much welcome.

Well it seems that address is a house on google earth, it may just be the owners address, but it seems TOMORROWSGOLFER.CO.UK isn't answering the telephone anymore. Also to top it off, the skycaddie sg5 still isn't dispatched so can't be in stock, yet today they have added on the website a TOMORROWSGOLFER auction site and they have just put up a skycaddie sg5 for auction.

How's the best way to go about warning people of the way it's run, they may not be doing anything illegal , but considering they took the money on my credit card the day I ordered when it's not even in stock, yet they can add an auction site with a skycaddie sg5. Surely it's wrong.

Anyone care to comment?

Does anyone know who to complain to regards internet sites that are advertising a false service ? I've thought of going to citizens advice but what can they do? Surely there is some way of getting an internet site removed if it can be proved it doesn't offer the service it advertises?

Luckily I did so i'm covered. Credit card company have been made aware. They have changed it on there website to dispatched but that was a week ago now and still no gps unit so will have to give it a bit longer.

did you ever recieve the skycaddie? I am looking to buy one of the new ones the SGX and that website is the cheapest but again I can't find many reviews

Let's just say things are ongoing at the moment...

But one thing I will say is that skygolf(makers of skycaddie) have gone out of their way in helping me with this matter as I contacted them. They have even been emailing me and ringing me as they are embarrassed by the service I have received from the company not related to skycaddie.

so you are saying steer clear of them then. that is what i thought but couldnt find any "real" people having used them.

all their reviews on their website seem to be from the same person in terms of the writing style and date they were published
