Possible 7D fault please help!

Hi Guys,

Would anyone mind posting their opinion on this strange purple spot (just below and left of centre frame) on my 7D's (1 day old) video footage? There is no apparent problem with stills photos, and I have tried different lenses and it shows up on all of them. Do you think it needs sending back? By the way this footage is 1080P which seems to crash my windows media player, but plays fine with VLC etc. Please comment! Thanks...

You tried checking whether theres anything on your sensor? If its all clean then it looks like a dodgy sensor to me and I would send it back for a replacement.

Movie plays fine on quicktime which is my default player for .mov.
 
Thanks for looking- I found someone say that if you take the lens off then set it to do a manual clean, when you turn it back on it remaps the sensor, hiding the offending dot. Tried this, and sure enough it works!
