Ok, so here is the thing. I recently purchased an iPad and absolutely adore it. Now I have a PC and want to keep it that way. I like the customisability and upgradability of the whole thing.

However I have come to appreciate the design of the Mac Pro case and am planning a g5 mod to put my pc in.

Now this requires an old mac case obviously. Sooo unless someone has a suggestion of where to pick one of these up I'm currently looking at getting a case off of eBay. Now the thing is for about 20 more instead of getting a case with a selection of parts in it I could get a mac running 10.3/4/5.

Now eventually I would be stripping it out of the case anyway but considered it might be worth a try... So what do people reckon? Would it be worth spending the extra 20 to just get a bit of experience with OSX and see how it works... Not that I have any idea what I'd use it for....

Coming from a massive windows fan, Do it.

Have always like the idea of having OS X installed but there isn't any feasible (Legal?) way of doing it when I wan't to keep a traditional desktop.

Do it, but make sure to get one running Leopard (10.5). IMO it's the oldest version which won't feel old/outdated.

Oh and post a build log :D.

Modding a G5 is a task and a half if you aren't all that handy with your hands and tools. I have a work in progress G5 Power Mac case running well into a second year. Maybe I'll finish it before the end of the world

Edit: take a look

Great, thanks for the heads up about leopard.

Oh I am well aware of the issues and challenges. I will do a build log when I get around to it.

Aiming for something very much like the cyprio mod when I do move to modding. Although air cooled and better air flow than traditional mac.

That's the mod for anyone interested...
