Possible Explosion in Derby

There seems to be a lot of sonic booms happening in different countries recently, like in the past week.

I'm curious why people call 999. Unless you've seen an explosion, you are going to assume that you are the first responder from some sound which is clearly quite far away? It could be anything and I'm sure people that are closer will report it if it is serious.

I'm not sure if stansted airport is near essex?

That's someones ring bell camera detecting the one at stansted airport.
Did you mean counties or countries :D. I knew about the first one, and this thread is about the second one. I wouldn't say "There seems to be a lot of sonic booms happening in different countries recently, like in the past week." based on two sonic booms though? They aren't that uncommon, especially in different countries!

I think it was last year or maybe the year before a flight into iirc Newcastle lost radio contact with atc and 2 Typhoons were scrambled on QRA from Coningsby and we got two Sonic booms as they flew over us in West Yorkshire, it really was impressive (and scary) how bone rattlingly loud they were
