Just wanted a second opinion before i take any action on this, a buzzing noise has started coming from my PC and from past experience (crappy PSU in old PC) it sounds to me like the PSU fan is buzzing?

Only happens in short duration's but it is fairly frequent.

Noise is definitely from the PSU (as far as my ears can tell), is there any way to definitively know before I phone OCUK to return it?

PSU is the XFX 850 XXX Edition, and still under warranty (only had the PC almost a month)

Noise happens more frequently whilst gaming.

What GPU are you using, could it be the GPU making the noise if the two items are in close proximity of each other.

Is there a possibility of testing your PSU in another system, also does the noise come when the cpu is under stress.

GPU is the 7950 in the Corsair 500R case. Neither are particularly close to each other.

No other system available to test the PSU in unfortunately, could try and find one but would need to go pretty far out my way to do so.

May well be whilst the CPU is under stress, only really notice it when playing games, with a 2500k though most games aren't really putting it under much stress?

First noticed in in BF3, but it's present even in older games like CoD4, Terraria and Space Pirates and Zombies

On closer inspection it appears to be coming from the CPU cooler, checked with running games and in Prime 95, noise comes every time the CPU is stressed in the benchmark feature, is this right or is something at fault?

First decent PC so a bit paranoid about any noises!

3rd time lucky, its definitely the GPU, started artifacting all over the place, on desktop and in-game, has had a slight overclock but not touched voltages, only set it in CCC. Sounds like a faulty GPU?

As soon as the artifacting started I reset to stock through afterburner and CCC, still black squares appearing everywhere around the desktop and in games as well. Think I'll be phoning OCUK tonight/tomorrow and seeing what can be done.
