Have Gigabyte 500w PSU with motherboard GA-MA790xt ud4p - DDR3 memory 1600 9-9-9-24 etc...
Have newly built system AMD3 3.1ghz athlon II core4, OS Win 7 pro 64 bit.
Experienced a bit of an odd situation as follows...
System boot-up is always stable and during normal desktop operations etc...
However after 1 maybe two hours and ONLY when restarting the PC to update software etc... the PSU basically cuts out when shutting down. Have to leave the PSU alone for 2-3 minutes then ok again to use....

I have changed Power cable - I have the DDR3 settings as spec on product 1.8v and as mentioned above. Checked all cables inside system also processor to make sure seated properly etc and also system fans area all working ok bios reading ok...

Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks

If the psu won't allow you to boot back up it suggests it's safety circuits have cut power to the computer for some reason. I've never heard of this from a restart though, it is most odd.

I suppose you could just shut down and start up normally to avoid the problem but that's just ignoring the issue.

I'm stumped for sure... I have ordered a new PSU just in case...CoolerMaster 550w
Will send the so called problem one back to shop to be tested.
I have been building my own PC's for many many years now and this is the first time I have experienced such an issue. You test everything outside of the chassis and it all works - so the next step is you fix everything in place - I didn't reckon on the PSU screwing things up after the damn things been running for a while!
Thanks for reply...
