i have a radeon oc 6850 hd and has been working fine for the last two months(only had the system this long and bought it new from oc) but recently when playing skyrim and saints row the third (only playing these games at the mo) i start to get lines across the screen then it will lose some of the screen then move it so i will have some of the right of the screen on the left! and tonight on skyrim it moved a little of the bottom of the screen to the top!
any help would be much appreciated for why its doing this is the card on the way out or?

cheers chris

Whatever is happening, it definitely doesn't sound healthy.

Have you overclocked the card or are you running it at stock at the moment? Try underclocking the card with CCC by 50mhz on core/memory (roughly) and see whether the issue persists. It's obviously not a remedy to the situation but if the lines disappear then you can pinpoint the issue to being gpu failure - RMA would be the next bet.

Also, if you could dl gpu-z and keep an eye on your temps that would be useful, as it could be faulty cooling causing the card to artefact due to excessive heat.

Finally, what make card are you using? (Not a real reason bar assessing your RMA experience)

Best of luck mate.

Sounds like it's knackered. Check your temperatures and if fine do some google research to see if anyone else has had similar problems before RMA'ing.

It's the ocUk radeon 6850 that's what they have it up as description, what temps should I be seeing I have been monitoring my whole system the highest temp the gpu has got to is 59c is that a exceptable temp? From what I read this seems fine or not?

Also what I forgot to mention is its fine for quite along time(1 hour 2 hours) then it does it it's not immediately.
I shall go into ccc and lower it down like u suggest and see what happens.
Thanks for the advice guys/gals anymore is always welcome.

nope the card is not overclocked.
well today i turn my comp on i do the new update for the drivers and start skyrim right away its all pixalated and i can see through the floor! i came out and removed all mods and the hd dlc re load and yet again is the same.....

i load up saints row the third and the graphics are fine none of what is happenning in skyrim! now is this a driver issue or the graphics card?
any help would be much appreciated even when i had issues it never did this and now its from the moment i get in game only on skyrim so far gonna test some more games and see what happens...

as said in above post i updated the drivers before i played any games the temp was 59c and never seen it or recorded it going higher.

ive played about 2 hours on it tonight maybe more with no problems i have played saints row the third and space marine all on highest settings with no problems but the problems still persist with skyrim! is this a driver issue or? can i go back to previous drivers?

sorted the issue with skyrim found out the latest driver has made the aa cause the pixalation so turned it off and will wait for a driver update to fix. cheers for the help chris
