Rig is as per sig...

I knocked my case yesterday and the thing froze... upon re-booting it seems like the HD won't read.

So the PC will start to boot, display the splash screen, allow me enter BIOS, but it won't progress any further.

It sounds like there is an initial whir, then a click/tick, then it dies off, then it whirrs again, click/tick, dies, repeat.

I've opened it up and checked a few connections, nothing obviously wrong, but exactly the same symptom when I try to reboot.

edit - the Raptor 150GB is obviously the boot disc.

What are my options?

Thanks
Simon

If the drive was in use when knocked, it could very well be the drivehead scratched the disk surface.

Before I have found that sometimes the drive will bootup after a couple of hours long enough to copy data off it but not install anything.

Think you might be looking at a new drive possibly, Hope I'm wrong though and that you had a recent backup.
