I dont know if im posting in the right part of the forum or not but I have a small niggle about an Icy Box IB-553SSK I bought from ocuk a few months back. Basically this thing has 3 hard drive trays and only two of them show the power light as on, one of the trays doesnt light up at all except for data access? If I take that particular tray out and put another in its place it will light up... im confused!

I have even swapped the drive out and it still wont light up? I did an inspection for damage or any loose parts but nothing is wrong from what I can see so im assuming I have overlooked something. Can anybody with an icybox help me out please?

*Its the same as this one but the 3-tray version:

The actual leds are on the circuit board which carries the sata headers which are deep inside the chassis and all of them have been proven to work. There is a plastic strip inside each tray that channels the light to the front if you get me... but the thing is I can take these trays and shift them about and the lights will work on all but one tray and I just dont get it! Its the same tray no matter what drive I put in it and there isnt anything wrong that I can visually see

It seems as if it does not like having 3 drives lit at once? I triple checked everything before using this thing aswell.

EDIT: I did another swap around and it really does look like a duff power led. I thought these backplanes were supposed to be built to take abuse in a server enviroment? having an led die like that is really annoying :(
