Possible London Meet - 4th March 06

Righto, anyone fancy meeting up in London and shooting some frames? The 4th is quite far off so people should be able to make arrangements if they want to come. Hopefully the weather should be ok too!

Some of the things I thought we could do:

City
The new Spitalfields development (see sig), the gherkin, leadenhall market, tower 42 etc.

South Bank
Tower bridge, Millenium bridge, Houses of Parliament, the Eye.

Canary Wharf
Westferry Circus, Canada Place, South Colonnade.

Or feel free to suggest anything :)

I'll be meeting you all underneath the departure boards at Liverpool Street station.

I thought the final itinery could be something like:
City, Monument (as suggested by someone in another thread), South bank, trafalgar square + houses of parliament etc.

I'm going to be in London until late so you're welcome to join me for a few beers and a pizza (or something) later if you wish.

Good stuff :)

Was maybe thinking about meeting up at about 11 or 12 ish, possibly in a pub somewhere (unless there are any under 18s amongst you), having a pint and sorting out where we all want to go. I'll probably stay fairly late and get some night shots too.

Just checked the times on thetrainline.com and booking in advance you can do the return journey for £25 on two "VALUE ADVANCE 2 SINGLE C" tickets from Virgin Trains.

Depart: Liverpool Lime Street - 07:06
Arrive: London Euston - 10:42

Depart: London Euston - 19:50
Arrive: Liverpool Lime Street - 23:42

You'd need to get a zones 1-6 travelcard when you reached London though (for tubes), these are £6.30.

Don't forget guys, bring plenty of spare batteries, film / memory cards, tripods too if you want. For those that haven't got one (tripod) I'm bringing mine and so as long as there isn't a huge queue to use it I don't mind sharing :)

How about 10:30 - 11? Should give us plenty of time to get round everywhere we want to go.

I think you will probably get away with a zones 1-3 travel card to be honest - we don't want to spend too much time travelling!

I'll post up my photo over the next few days so you'll recognise me :D If any of you want to send me an email I'll forward on my mobile number in case you get held up.

eXSBass: You're more than welcome to come - this meet is open to anyone, doesn't matter what kit you have you just need to enjoy photography.

Horrible place but the food at the chinese restraunt next to the cinema rocks!
 
exSBass: Yes we'll be travelling about. Meetup is between half ten and eleven at Liverpool Street Station (mainline not underground) the half hour gives people some leeway with trains.

I'l probably be getting the 09:51 from Billericay (I live quite a way from wickford station so I can't be arsed to walk plus I get free parking in Billericay :)).

Should get to Liverpool Street just before half past. Enough time to get a coffee and bacon sandwich :) Meet you at Billericay if you like.
 
I don't see any problem - there's no alcohol involved whereas there will be with the Essex meet. To be honest with you xSBass - I didn't know about this "rule" for meets but I'll try and find out what the position is although I can't see how we can stop you from turning up at Liverpool St at half ten with everyone else :D
 
I'll be lugging my Manfrotto beast if I can still make it.

Some brown stuff has hit the spinny thing at work and it's kinda my fault so I might have to work over the weekend to fix it. I really hope not as I've been looking forward to this for ages. Will let you know tomorrow night :(
