Possible Monitor Problem

Hey,

Just wondering if any of you more educated tech-y guys could shed some light on a potential problem i may have.

Last night before i went to sleep i let my monitor go into sleep mode, but left pc on to download, however this morning when i woke up, i shifted my mouse to wake the monitor up, it flashed up to the proper screen for an instant, then the monitor went black, with the mouse flickering?

The monitor in question is a Viewsonic VX2268wm 120Hz.

Anyone have any experience with this? Should i be worried? The monitor is only a tad over a year old.

PS. After shutting pc down via power button, and turning both base unit, and monitor off at mains, before booting back up, monitor works fine again, hence my posting here.

Sounds more like the system than the monitor. Get your graphics drivers updated if you are not up to date.

Thought of this after I posted. Just did it so hopefully this fixes the problem.

Yeah, I guess the other thing to check is your power saving settings... if you swicth the screen off after 10 minutes and the hard drivers after 20 or something, that could be doing it... also if you have hibernation or anything enabled, that could cause it. But hopefully you have sorted it anyways.
