Possible PS3 Delay

I thought I read yesterday that one of the companies making Blu-ray drives (which I believe are the main cause of the PS3 delays) has finally been able to ramp up production. But I can't find the link now...
 
When did Sony announce that they would miss the Spring deadline?

When did Sony announce that they would not be supplying Europe with PS3s September or October?

When did they admit that there would only be 80k units in Japan and 200k for North America,

Sony are not known for their open and honest approach where delays are concerned. IMO their record speaks for itself. They will not make March, and they will not let us know until the last minute.

Imo there is scope for a Class Action Lawsuit if they miss this deadline without "reasonable" notice.

For what? What have you lost... or would it be for your hurt feelings at not being able to buy your new toy?

game developers might, holding back releases for launch only to be let down time and time again costing them money on a game that they cannot launch

They can launch it though as irrc the PS3 is released, but none of them have there games ready.
If they released it then it sold poorly because Sony hadn't launched in all territories then they would need to look at there license to develop games. But i still think they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Also it wouldn't be a class action ;)
 
With Namco stating that a developer will have to sell half a million copies of a game like RR7 to break even I can see a lot of developers not putting games out until the Unit numbers rise.

I think we might have a very small paper launch in march (under 50,000 units for europe) and then slow supplies till september.

250th post now where is that members market :D I need a wireless router

What for? I honestly see no reason whatsoever to own a PS3 right now other than to say to everyone 'Hey, I have a PS3!'

Maybe by March or September there will be a reason to actually own one.

Yeah i agree with this.
When march comes along and they have the big firmware update and more games out on it, it will be worth it.
But at the moment, resistance is great, but not 400 quid great

Hardly considering most have complained that they received final spec development kits too late and in short supply.

This means 3rd party software could be longer in coming...
