Hi guys,

Not sure if I have a faulty PSU or not but when the mains power is switched on and the PC is still off at this time, my PSU has a loud constant hum/buzzing, and I've not noticed it with any other PCs I had in the past?

Its a Coolermaster Real Power 850w? I've had it for about 3yrs now but I think its been like this for a while now, just don't want it to go pop on me! Its got a 5yr warranty as well, so if it is a problem then I'll get in touch with them.

Cheers :)

Also do these voltages look right? the +3.3v line is only showing 2.11v!!

Seems a little low but the 5 and 12v are near enough spot on.

Use a multi-meter to check any Orange connector. Problem is there there are only a few. If you have an AUX connector then insert the red probe in to the Orange and the black into any black (although this can be tricky)

You could also try using the ATX supply by bridging the the green connector with any black, this turning on the PSU, then insert the red probe into the Orange and the black probe into any black.

Alternatively, I use a spare 24-24pin ATX extension cable and have part of the orange cable stripped.
