As great as those possible specs seem, its really all about the price. If its too close to the Titan, it wont sell as well, if they price it around the 980Ti or slightly lower they will obliterate nvidia and take back a significant chunk of the market they lost over the past few years.

Fury X is faster than the R9 290X by a minimum of 54%. Which brings us to the second major improvement. Fury X achieves this performance improvement with a TDP that’s a meager 10W higher. Which makes Fury X 48% more power efficient than AMD’s previous single GPU flagship the R9 290X, which is quite remarkable.

I hope the 390X 8Gb performs as well as the vanilla 980. If nVidia had dropped the price of the 980 to £350 or less (where it should be), then the 390X would come in at a properly interesting price of £300-325. As 980s still go for absurdly high amounts, the 390X will be priced accordingly.

I'm still hoping the Fury Pro comes in at £500 and competes with the 980ti. I don't want to pay the gsync premium for my next monitor.

I expect them to cost if they have performance to them.
always a premium to entusiast and the % extra.

True but where do they price it?

They could price it at £500, the demand will be insane if those specs are true or they'll price it too high and people will opt for a cheaper solution or go TitanX for the higher memory.

I have always liked using AMD cards and i hope they get this release spot on, Nvidia need the competition.

I hope the AMD lads who aren't used to paying halo tier prices for the top card have their wallets ready if it's 10% faster than a TX.

I guess we'll see a lot of hypocrites outed with this launch :D

Well, anywhere above £500 and it's a no buy from me :p

Martini won't pay £500 which is less Nvidia's GTX second fastest (£550+) GPU for a GPU that beats Nvidia's fastest (£850+)

With people like that what more can AMD do. Some people expect way to much :p AMD get treated like a second class citizen no matter what they do lol.

If AMD deliver on the hardware then they get my money. If it's faster than TX will be a day one buy for me. Even if it's more than £500 :D

Whichever way you look at it, 4Gb puts a time limit on the card more than 6Gb (12gb is pointless). This seems to be the only question mark over the card at the moment.

Unless HBM does something super special to overcome the limitation. I'm aware this has been discussed at great length and generally thought to be unlikely.

You do realise it's not DDR, right?

He's right though. These cards are all within a narrow margin of each other, and you've got HBM which is cutting edge memory with a small capacity, when in the last 2 years we're seeing games using more memory than ever with it getting increasingly difficult to fit higher fidelity textures into these spaces.

You can't argue that's not slightly bonkers. 4GB is sufficient, but for the price the card will command - sufficient is a pretty neutral word.

HBM is real game changer. ;)

DDR is a street of bungalows, you have to go out the door walk down the street a little to the next house/drawcall.

HBM 4 story building, you want next draw call just do down/upstairs. :p
