possible to add higher resolutions for older games ?

Hi I just recenlty bought some older games which I no would run well on my laptop while I was a way.

2 of the games I bought were

No one lives forever
No one lives forever 2

Any way the only problem is I have a widscreen laptop and when first playing the game the display of the game just doesnt look right when playing and doesnt fit with my screen to well.

Was just wondering If there is any options here for me to allow higher resolutions in the game some how ??

Some games you can modifiy .ini/registry files etc to change the resolution - I've done this before for System Shock 2, Red Alert 2, Red Faction etc. Quake3/Doom3 engine games you can change the config.
