Possible to bodge 4 pin psu connector?

Had a new mobo arrive today, it's got a 4 pin connector and my psu doesn't have that output

Is it just a simple 12v/0v wire setup?

I've got a 4 pin plug from an old shuttle psu, can i chop that off and connect it to the psu i'm trying to use?

Yep done it before a fair few times, just connected it to a molex plug and away it went
