Hi,

My company has asked me to find out if it is possible to setup a piece of software, which is normally used for the intranet, and to set it up over the internet.

I do a little webdesign work, but mostly do graphic design work so not really 100 percent sure on it.

Anyways, the software is for online training courses, and I have it setup in house using a server on windows 2003, and just like it says on the box - the product runs fine and is accessable with the office machines.

I have set it up over on a dedicated hosted server - once again using the same OS (Windows server) and it doesn't seem to want to play ball.

The program uses IIS, and basically places itself in the directory of the default website.

There are 2 issues.

1. "Default Web Site" is obviously not the website, but it places it there anyways, but when I right click the application and then click on browse, I am getting a rather ugly page can't be found. How would I set up windows server to change the default website to the correct one ?

2. Is it even possible to make Intranet stuff work over the internet ?

I have pretty much full control of the server, I have plesk and remote desktop control.

Sorry if these are silly questions, but I am far more comfortable with Photoshop than IIS :D

You can use the internet to connect two intranets together. Is called "VPN". Based on this, it should work fine since basically with the VPN all machines are part of the same "intranet". Look up VPN.

Hey,

The softwae will be needed to be accessed by our clients on their home PC's, preferably by them typing an ip/web address in to their browser, and then they are able to access the software.

Upon trying to type in the address just now, something does seem to be happening, because the ip address xx.xx.xx.xxx/nclexrn3500 forwards to xx.xx.xx.xxx/nclexrn3500/MainMenu.do but then comes up with a page can't be found.
