hi all i was wondering is it possible to create a raid 0 array on an nvidia nforce 430 chipset without the use of a floppy drive, i.e burn the driver to CD and use that or does wondows only search for an A drive?

cheers

Vista will allow you to use a CD etc for the driver, XP insists on a floppy if the driver is not on the install CD. nLite, however, will allow you to create a custom install CD with the driver on it.

thanks, just plugged in an old floppy i had lying around going to setup my 2x320gb 7200.10s in raid ) on my nforce 4 raid controler just dont get how to do it as there is no option like the intel ones to go into a seperate bios kind of thing to set it all up

If the ports are set to RAID mode in the main BIOS then the RAID BIOS should be available immediately after the main one.

ok ive configured all the raid options like striping stripe size and the discs i want but everytime i do the windows setup i press F6 to load the driver and there is an NVIDIA CLASS RAID Driver and and NVIDIA ATA bus driver or somthing of that kind (nvatabus is what it says) i have tried loading both together and individually and i get BSODs at various pionts during the setup i have never gotton to the format part it always BSODs straight before that, luckily my installation didnt corroupt from this drive but when i go into the setup and try and format the drive there is nothing there to format not even my storage drives, i have been into the bios and made sure everything is correct and my 2 drives show up as one under nvidia AGE and i have set that to boot first still get BSODs. sorry for the long/confusing post
