As title. Is it possible to lower the refresh rate on the PG35VQ to say 144hz to get rid of ghosting.

Or maybe rather since it hasn't been released yet. Is it possible to lower the refresh rate on a VA monitor to reduce ghosting?

It's a VA Panel and as far as I know it happens with VAs, I had one about a year ago...it was back in the box after about 10 minutes , ended up getting an X34 IPS , never had any issues with it at all :)

Yes. But some VA monitors is better to tackle this issue and also I am pretty sure I saw something similar with a different VA monitor. Down clocked the Hz and the blur got reduced.

Well I cant advise you on that, but, for the money you paid for the monitor how long will you put up with trying to solve the issue , personally speaking I would send it back and be looking at an IPS Panel, plus why buy a high refresh rate monitor that you cant use at the stated refresh rate because it's unwatchable ...thats no good to you dude

I am not really in the plans to buy it. I am curious if this is possible.

200hz in UW1440p is pointless as you will never reach that with good graphic settings on. 144hz is more realistic with a 2080 TI.

If one can get GSync 1440p@144hz with no ghosting or smearing, HDR1000, and the contrast of a VA panel. That is the dream monitor. And there is no other monitor out there like that right now.

My plan is to buy the upcoming 34GK950G but it is certainly lacking in some aspects.

What do you mean "down-clock"? Just set a lower refresh rate... nothing is forcing you to select 200 Hz.

Okay. You are right. Wrong use of words. But that is not my question.

A lot of VA panels have ghosting issues right? I have heard somewhere that if you set a lower refresh rate the blur will suside some. Is this true? That is my question.

Correct. I don't expect this VA panel to be much useful over 144 Hz.

The amount of talk of refresh rates and all that, I'm glad I'm not fussy, sure if my bike is randomly phantom clicking I'm fussy, but 60Hz, 30fps, I couldn't give a...

The LG 32GK850G is VA and does a very good job regards blur/overshoot. Compared to other VA panels, it's far superior in this regard, and this is backed up by reviews. So it IS possible to have a VA panel that doesn't suffer badly from this problem... but I don't believe anyone has seen panel the PG35VQ is using yet, so it's very much a wait and see.

Good to hear that about the 850G.

We do have this clip though.

Looking forward to the reviews.
