Possible to fake extenuating circumstances?

Saberu - What year of study is this ? Not that it should make any real difference, but my experience was that things were considerably slacker regarding the observation of coursework / exam rules during the first year, as it only acted as a way of filtering out the complete 'tards from moving onto the second year - the results didn't count towards the degree grading in any way.
