Yep, just stick an amp in the boot wich then connects to your speakers. Then simply run a cable from your Ipod to the amp.

Most small ish amps should fit under the seat, pay attention to cooling / ventilation though - those little amps still can get hot!

Ask an ICE specialist what he recommends

small amp in the boot, run a 3.5mm jack to rca/PHONO cable from the pod to the amp, set the gains highish but not too high. around 2v did me good

Just watch the pre amp voltage from the Ipod or whatever, i've had mixed results when messing around with this years ago.

can ipods output a preamped signal?

if not they you are going to be amplifying an amplifed signal (the ipod amplifies to say 25milliwatts to drive the headphones)

you have to be careful how much amplification you put onto an alreayd amplified signal, as the sound will just distort...a lot!

Yep, I done this a while ago - it's better with a headunit tho, as you can tinker with EQ and things.

for the cost of an amp (50-60quid) you could get a head unit.
