Hi all,

I'm about to make the jump from a Q9550 to an i930, and all the hardware changes that entails. I want the whizzy new 6gb/s sata on socket 1366 as I intend to migrate across my SSD and 6 other sata drives, and I need the board to have 3 feasibly functional PCI-E slots for my 5870s and I also have a 8800GTX I want to plug in to perform physx duties.

I'm really looking at an upper budget of £700 for motherboard, ram, cpu and cooler
Currently I am looking at:

Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail £223.24
Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £149.99
OCZ Reaper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 16000C9 2000MHz Triple Channel Kit £139.99
Corsair Hydro H70 High Performance CPU Cooler £86.99
which all comes to just over £600.

I'm going for 'best I can get' in that budget, so if anyone else has any suggestions please let me know :)
thanks

Hello

If you haven't bought the components already I'd recommend you to wait till the new intel chips are out as the price will drop and you also get more options.

I've just had a think about the space I'll actually need in order to fit all the gfx and hdds in my antec 1200, and I'm not sure I'll have room for the power cables to the gfx cards if I try adding the 8800
I haven't bought anything yet so it's all academic at the moment :)
Might need to look at throwing a new case into the mix. Any suggestions for the biggest case possible? :)

Does anyone have experience with the massive Lian-Li cases? I see there are some pretty obsecene ones around the £400 mark which look about 5 feet tall :o I'm not really sold on their looks (a bit to monolithic for my taste) but I guess they have accessories available?
