Possible Wet Malaysian GP :)

Pretty standard all year round afaik.

Last time I stayed there it would thunderstorm during late afternoon/early evening almost routinely like clockwork for periods of an hour or so.
 
This is not the good news it would first appear to be.

Remember what happens when it rains in Malaysia? It comes down so hard it floods the track and cancels the race.
 
It's useless looking at those weather forecasts as said it always rains at night, however looking at hourly weather, looking at 2mm for qauli and 1mm for race.

You see what happened to Sutil [i think it was] when the car becomes slightly unbalanced, imagine what it would be like in the wet .
 
the question now is, if it rains so bad they have to stop the race, who gets the ice-cream, alonso or massa? do team orders come into play? "fernando is hungrier than you, can you confirm you understood the message?"

Drivers always have the option of not using it. Some might be good enough/have a good enough car/combination of the two to be able to control it. Don't see why Race Control shouldn't let them try :)
 
Probably because if they do allow it and things go pear shaped, the teams would all blame the FIA for allowing it, rather than take responsibility, so it is easier to just say "if it rains, no stupid pointless flappy wing thing"
 
Say it rains extremely heavily. Like a few years ago, or like in Korea. Do they just run behind the safety car for the entire race or cancel it?

What if it rains heavily at every race?

I hope it does. That will teach them to implement rules where by the design of the cars makes them pointless in wet weather
