For a few years or so i've had a Phiilps BSure SV1 which I bought off of eBay for about £500 or so (wasn't a bad price at the time!) I don't use it a huge amount but more than anything I think the main reason I bought it is for the lamp life of 6000 hours. To be honest, thinking about it that's a silly thing to purely base a decision on when buying a projector, but at the time the specs looked half decent, the bulb life was excellent (knowing what bulbs for these cost) and it was better then my 3M MP8030 I had so I bought it.
It's a pretty good projector and also very quiet, but I was wondering about upgrading it as the picture's not as clear as I'd like, I can see the pixels still if I look at it in the 'right' way (if you see what I mean) and i'm sure theres a lot better out there now.
So, as i'm somewhat useless at making decisions
does anyone think it's a worthwhile exercise upgrading or would I be better sticking with what i've got?
I'm sure I could stick the one i've got on eBay and get a few hundred or so for it, especially as it's still got over 5000 hours left on the bulb (I bought it with only a few hundred hours on it).
I've seen makes such as Panasonic and Optoma, etc mentioned, and also DLP, but really I was wondering if there's anyone on here who's done a similar upgrade from a similar or same projector as mine as would be able to say yay or nay.
Budget could probably be what I spent on the old one at least.
