dosent the big yellow thing on the end of the rifle kinda ruin the camouflage:) , what are they anyway?

Blank Firing Attachment (BFA), partially plugs the barrell to simulate the resistance that the hot gases would have to push against when firing a live round. Without the BFA the gas would escape the barrell so quickly the pressure would be gone before enough gas had entered the gas clyinder/gas plug to force the bolt back and chamber another round.

As a secondary function it slows down the gases and wadding/bits of brass leaving the barrell to safer levels. Although it can still do some nasty damage, had one guy on excerise end up with a 1 inch deep wound on his leg from someone firing a burst too close.

With an A2??? Ouch!

I obviously wouldn't know anything about this, but it could be fun if, say, you're finishing up an exercise and have loads of blank ammo left everyone gets topless and has fun firing red hot brass at each other's chests! that would be great fun... but obviously it never actually happened. :p
