Ok, hands up which big kids have got their christmas decorations up already ??

me and the mrs put ours up this weekend. All the shops seem to have them, the TV is full of christmas, and our little un (he's 4) was allways on about santa and christmas, so we decided to put the tree up. Went out to look at the christmas lights in leeds after, and found leeds had their Christmas market on. Freshly baked pretzels ... mmm

I'll post some pics when we get home, but just interested to know who else is getting into the christmas spirit :D

You have Christmas decorations up and we've still got nearly two weeks of November left?

Why not just keep them up all year round to save yourself the hassle of having to take them down?

It's November......having said that the neighbours have had their stuff up the past week :/

Even though I really love Christmas, and I don't care that the pud has come up a bit early... This really is FAR too early to have your decorations up. :p

You should have waited until December 1st at least. ;)

you can tell that most of the people posting dont have kids. The enjoyment you get of seeing your kids enjoy christmas makes it worth it

Enjoying christmas decorations has nothing to do with commercialsm.

and heck, even the forums has gone all christmas now. Stop being scrooges :p

For me Christmas decorations go up either the frist or second weekend of december depending on where it falls. I love Christmas (my birthday's christmas eve) and make sure I make the most of it each year.

Mid november is, IMHO, too early for anything, but very elaborate displays (the more elaborate it is the earlier it should be up so that you don't feel like you've wasted time putting it up for only a few days).

Actually, this reminds me I should start working on my christmas sig.

Much festive cheer to you all.

<festive high-five>

Tree goes up Christmas Eve.
Tree comes down Boxing Day.

With us it goes up Christmas Eve, and comes down after the twelfth day of Christmas.

I don't have kids, no, but just because I was excited about Christmas in November doesn't mean my parents put the decorations up. Do you give your children their birthday party a month early because they're excited about it? Next year they'll be excited in October because it's only a month until the Christmas decorations go up, then you'll need to put them up in October.

Nah...

Why are people even mentioning commercialization? He has already said that it's for his kid's benefit. Also it brightens the place up...you don't have to spend **** loads of money to enjoy Christmas.
