Just came back from Sanibel in Florida. It's where all the rich old Floridians retire to. My god....the cars. On the drive back over the bridge to the mainland I saw an SLS AMG, E63 AMG, Ferrari 360 Spider and Bentley Continental. And that was out of about 15 cars total on the bridge

Just had a full days encounter with this on an extended test drive
It's the Plus model with the new 7-speed S tronic gearbox, fixed sports suspension, ceramic brakes and lots of carbon bits.
And I didn't curb the wheel! A Norwich player had it on the weekend and took care of that!

that R8 is nice but OMG that LFA posted earlier!
so this wasnt stricktly today but in the summer I had sold some machines to a customer abroad and he organised his own transport. I went to make sure they were loaded ok into the the curtain sider and we found this

Tempted, Yes! But, I would like to drive a manual one with the normal magnetic ride suspension and brakes (ceramic was not fun IMO).
Still a few cars to look at though before I do anything. Not in a rush
All these new cars that only come with auto or double clutch boxes, bit annoying when I fancy a manual again before they are extinct!
F-Type R Coupe with a 6 speed would be interesting.

Nah it was very fun, not exactly the spec I would go for but the R8 is still up there on my want list.
I know its a bit slower than my car as it is but it was really nice driving my roads and being able to redline the engine and feel the car in more than 1st and 2nd without being at silly speeds or running out of road

Do you not find the R8 a bit 'normal' JP? I know it is technically pretty special, but I just find them so mundane maybe because they seem to be the drug dealer chavmobile of choice around these parts? Seems like a downgrade from a GT-R imo.

I seem to remember the only complaints about the R8 when it came out was the lack of power that they fixed with the V10.
I guess the V8 is still good though as they still sell plenty of them.
They have a brand new white V8 in the showroom with a diamond stitched interior which looked fantastic.
I have no idea what drug dealers are driving around here but I think I have seen three R8s in total and two were owned by the same guy that upgraded from the V8 to the V10 as the plate is the same.
I think it is still just an Audi, just like the GTR is really still just a Nissan. Not sure if its a downgrade, the interior was miles better, overall just something different.

It's oppersite around up here, GTR falls straight into the mid level dealer that doesn't want a range rover.
Not tried it, I have only driven the V12 brother. But I quite like R8s, I have only put stickers on one once and sat in it
I can see you point about cars being too fast though. Lose that sense of involvement /control

The Hamann M5 owner left his lights on and they slowly died out
M3, 458 and 1M same owner?
Usually don't like non-standard cars but that M5 is lovely

My favourite R8 is the V8 manual, by a long shot. Didn't particularly like V10, or the Plus Pack.
