My brother-in-law has three 300SL convertibles like that one. He restores them.
I didn't realise they were worth so much.
He should have used the pics from the daily mail... because these are terrible: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Golf-R...860217?hash=item2a5f61a139:g:Tx4AAOSwoydWlCQ0
It's not even based off a golf R but a Golf mk7 1.2T cat D.... *nice* And my favourite is the brembo caliper covers... For that extra awesome braking!

Now this is a proper car. Quite terrifying working on it knowing its value though

Stunning. The 300 SL has always been my favourite car, roadster or gullwing. Not going to lie it brought a tear to my eye the first time I saw the latter. Truly the greatest car ever made.
Why do people spend so much on making a car that's focused on being cheap to run look like a performance car. The thousands you've spent are pointless (IMO).
I've no idea... I'd rather put it towards the one you really wanted.
Correct, 1958 300SL Convertible, I thought they we're closer to £900,000.
Windscreen replacement.
Under the cover in the background is an SLS and behind me was a 1957 Gullwing 300 SL
