Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

Until you've driven or been driven in one, that kind of remark will always make me laugh at people saying it :p

Oh, I speak from experience, including back to back.

I've driven on track in anger and back to back when comparing to purchase... I can really feel the extra flex and weight in the convertible over the coupe. Even at normal speeds.

And I drove the convertible for the first time after having not driven an M3 for quite a while... instantly noticeable.

Still a great car, no doubt about that and an awesome convertible if you must have the roof down.

But I really found the flex to be too annoying.

I ended up buying a Porsche anyway after spending nearly four years in an E46. Just fancied something different. The Boxster is a lot closer to the Cayman than the M3 convertible is to the coupe :)

Not slating your car or convertible M3s in general... I love them... just I like the coupe that much more because the extra rigidity and lower weight make it feel that bit more connected and a touch more alive.

But then there's that exhaust note when the roof is down...

No denying there is some scuttle especially on bumpy roads, but it's by no means an issue to the level that some people on the internet make out! Both formats are precise, the coupe is just that much more precise naturally and the performance difference between the two is very small as well. Plenty of established car reviewers have mentioned all this over the years.

It's all about the roof down motoring as you say, the sound, the open air and feeling of being one with everything around you. Something the coupe just never did for me

Might be worth adding I have zero interest in track days, my only desire is to drive the on nice winding roads down the south coast on nice days. And for that alone a roof down thing fits the bill in the most ideal way!

Excuse the night pics, but this looked awesome.

I like the RCF, mint machine with a mint engine. Doesn't get good rep as a driver's car though in the motoring press?

Thought i'd add a few more of my spots on my travels, these are from New Zealand, Sydney and Dubai. I'll stick them in a spoiler tag as there's quite a few.
