The Veyron is actually a really nice colour in the flesh, a guy near my parents owns it. i have seen his wife driving it before, nutter.

Its the colour of the classic Bugattis like the EB110 and ultimately the Type 35. It does look nicer than other schemes I have seen. Still wouldn't bother with one if I had the oppertunity.

On the A1 northbound i saw a white VXR8 with the plate 'V888 VXR' driven by some old man

Didn't manage to get any pictures as i was driving and phone was on back seat.
