I can't possibly begin to explain how that car managed to mount the pavement and smash the bench in the way it did. Google Street View of said bench

I know that roundabout, as you come off at that exit you have to pull the car slightly to the left and the exit is narrow as there's normally parked cars either side. If you're a complete **** and come round the roundabout at speed then the result could be car meeting bench.

For me anyway it's always a case of dodging the buses and other drivers pulling onto the roundabout without giving way, that entrance onto the roundabout on the left is a classic, they come belting down there onto the roundabout without a care or thought.

For me that roundabout is the worst, the reason why people seem to jump onto the roundabout is I think the space, you normally get single car file going round and the guy approaching (especially at the entrance on the left in your google maps streetview) just sees a lot of empty space between him and the car on the roundabout which he simply wants to fill.

Looking at your pic he's hit the bench square on as he's pushed it towards the shop window directly behind the bench, what a complete idiot, surprised nobody was injured.
