Don't forget that on that bridge IIRC the roadway was constructed entirely off of the bridge then moved forward inch by inch by huge hydraulic jacks until the surface has traveled the entire massive distance. It's fascinating, really.

I was doing some work experience at Ove Arup, the engineering company that designed this building, and i got to see all the plans before it had started. Yay me.

Yeah I remember watching a documentry on discovery channel, totally amazing. More the reason why I chose it.

The largest Steel Arch Bridge that I climbed last year....
52,800 tonnes
6 million + rivets
and increases by 7" in height on a hot day :eek:

I'm sure most of you know where it is....
